Consider inserting the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port atop the microscope at this point, allowing for the addition of a third eyepiece or an eyepiece camera (note: eyepiece camera not included). Locate the power adapter, connect it to the microscope, and plug it in. Activate the microscope by pressing the power button positioned at the rear of the base. Using the MicroscopeActivate the microscope and utilize the illumination intensity control wheel to adjust the lamp to its lowest brightness setting for initial focusing. Secure a slide in the stage's slide holder, ensuring it is ready for examination. Employ the X-Y translational control knobs situated on the stage's right side to navigate the stage front to back or the slide holder side to side, centering the specimen over the bulb perfectly. Adjust the binocular eyepieces by moving them closer together or further apart until a single clear image is visible through both. Fine-tune bulb brightness to a comfortable level using the dimmer wheel, optimizing clarity for viewing. Begin your examination with the lowest power objective lens, specifically the 4X objective, ensuring it is centered over the stage for initial observations. Gaze through the eyepieces and gently bring the image into focus by rotating the larger coarse adjustment focus knob, moving the stage closer to the objective. Once an initial image appears, transition to the blue fine adjustment focus knob for precise clarity adjustments or to explore multiple specimen layers. Enhance image clarity further with the diopter adjustment control on the eyepiece holder, ensuring a crisp and clear view. Explore different areas of the slide by maneuvering the X-Y translational control knobs to reposition the slide holder after achieving focus on the specimen. Elevate magnification by rotating the nosepiece clockwise to a higher magnification objective, carefully avoiding contact between the slide and the objective to prevent potential damage to either component. If unable to position the objective without slide contact, utilize the coarse focus knob to lower the stage, providing additional space before altering magnification settings. Modify the resolution by adjusting the focusing ring on the iris aperture diaphragm, refining image quality to optimal standards. Manually adjust the condenser's proximity to the stage by turning the metal knob, tailoring the depth and focus of the illumination. For superior results with the 100X objective, employ the included immersion oil to enhance clarity and resolution significantly. Gently rotate the nosepiece towards the 100X objective, positioning it closely but not directly on the specimen slide. Subsequently, apply a drop of the included immersion oil onto the cover slip to enhance visual clarity. Carefully rotate the 100X objective into place, ensuring it makes contact with the immersion oil for optimal image resolution. Meticulously adjust the focus until your specimen is displayed with crystal-clear precision. (Note: After each use, immediately and gently wipe away the oil from the objective lens and cover slip with lens paper moistened with a small amount of ethyl or isopropyl alcohol. Remember, immersion oil is not recommended for use with 4X, 10X, or 40X objectives.) Our precision swing-in and swing-out filter holder is conveniently located at the base of the Abbe condenser.
