Product Description Product DescriptionSoda Ash is the common name for sodium carbonate (Na2CO3), used to precipitate soluble calcium in drilling muds. It is a weak base that is soluble in water and dissociates into sodium and carbonate ions in solution. Calcium is present in many makeup waters and formations. It can cause flocculation of the mud, resulting in increased rheology, gel strengths, and fluid loss. Soda Ash can treat it for meeting the operating requirements.Applications/FunctionsReduces soluble calcium in water-base mudsTreats cement-contaminated mudsAdvantagesEffectively removes calcium in most drilling fluids at small treatment levelIncreases pHTypical Properties Appearance: White fine powderSolubility in water: 49.7% weight at 35oCSpecific gravity: 2.5 Recommended Treatment Mix 2.65 kg/m3 soda ash for each kg/m3 soluble calciumDo not use Soda Ash to treat massive cement contamination. Overtreatment with Soda Ash can result in carbonate contaminationPackage 50 KG SACKSHARKProduct DescriptionApplications/FunctionsCaustic SodaNaOHpH control in water based muds Potassium HydroxideKOHpH control in water based muds Bicarbonate of SodaNaHCO3Calcium precipitant and pH reducer in cement contaminated mudsSoda AshNa2CO3Calcium precipitant in lower pH muds LIMECa(OH)2Calcium Source and increasing pH HOT LIMECaOCalcium Source and increasing pH SHARKBUF?MgOMagnesium Source and increase pH Citric AcidCitric AcidReduce pH, precipitate soluble calcium and sequester iron in drilling muds
