It is manufactured from a petroleum-based thermoplastic polymer known for its high strength-to-density ratio, achieved through a process called copolymerization. HDPE pipe is the material of choice for a vast array of demanding applications, effectively replacing traditional materials like ductile iron, concrete, and PVC due to its superior performance characteristics.Modern HDPE pipes are predominantly made from PE100 and PE100-RC materials. PE100 denotes a minimum required strength (MRS) of 10 MPa, indicating a higher pressure rating and superior resistance to slow crack growth compared to its predecessors like PE80.
