Product DescriptionHigh Hardness Wear Resistant Chrome Carbide Overlay Hardfacing Weld Liner Plate1, General DescriptionChromium carbide composite cladding fusion bonded to a mild steel backing material.The deposit has been realized by means of oscillated welding and a wear resistant coating applied by submerged arc welding.Fine cracks perpendicular to the welding bead is normal due to natural stress relieving in a very hard matrix.Very high volume of chromium carbides evenly distributed throughout the uniform thickness of the deposit.Plate hardness ranges from HRC58-65.Base material can be Q235, Q345, A36, 310S, NM400, HARDOX450, and all weldable material.CCO, or chromium carbide overlay, only contains chromium-rich carbides. Overlays can also be of the complex carbide type. In these products other alloys such as Nb, Mo, V and W are added to the chromium carbide.Complex carbides are usually a preferred choice in hot wear situations since they can maintain full wear resistance in temperatures up to 600 °C (1100 °F). As complex carbides typically give 3-5 times longer service life compared to CCO, they are also suitable if the thickness of the overlay is restricted.High-performance overlay plates exposed to more than moderate impact forces can use an alloy containing ultra-fine borocarbides. These borocarbides can have a grain size as low as 500 nm, which is approximately 200 times finer than traditional chromium or complex carbides.In the literature and by different manufacturers, overlay products are also called carbide plate, chrome overlay steel, chrome overlay plate or hardfacing plate.It's an overlay plate consisting of small primary chromium carbides, secondary Niobium and Vanadium carbides for ultra-demanding conditions. Even in the event that the hard surface cracks, the strong, the deep weld bond the chromium carbide overlay provides prevents it from separating from the steel base plate under impact.MicrostructureThe microstructure of HISAN plate is a high density of chrome carbide crystals in a tough alloy matrix. In HISAN plate, the chrome carbide crystals act like the stones in concrete. As the concrete pavement wears, the stones provide a surface that resists abrasion better than the cement in which they are embedded. The hardfacing chrome carbides in HISAN plate serve the same purpose, providing an ultra-hard microstructure that resists wear longer than the alloy steel around them.The strictly controlled submerged arc process used to produce HISAN plate creates a greater density of chrome carbides, resulting in outstanding abrasion resistance. 4, FabricationThe backing mild steel plate provides HISAN brand overlay plates with structural integrity, which makes our overlay plates fabricated with zero damage to welding overlay, regardless of the shape and complexity of the structure. HISAN has the capabilities to manufacture and further process such fabrications or to supply formed, read-to-go wear liners. FormingHISAN chromium carbide overlay plate can be either cold formed or rolled. The recommended radius should be greater than 20 times the thickness of the plate. We recommend plates be rolled with the direction of the overlay welding. Forming can increase or decrease stress relief cracks in the overlay. This is typical and should not adversely affect the performance of the metal.Cutting: HISAN overlay plates could be cut by plasma, waterjet, laser. Plasma cutting is the recommended method for cutting our plate MachiningBecause of its incomparable hardness, clad metal is not recommended to be machined. However, the chromium carbide overlay surface on HISAN plating can be effectively blanchard ground.
