Product Description Product Description ZCQ series vacuum degasser is a special equipment to get rid of drilling fluid invaded gas, can wipe off the invading gas soon, play important role on recalling drilling mud proportion, keeping drilling mud performance. At the same time, it can also be an agitator with big power, suitable for variable kinds of drilling fuids purification system. How Does It Work?The principle is based on a simple law of physics: under reduced pressure (a vacuum), gases become less soluble and escape from a liquid.Here's the step-by-step process:Gas-Cut Mud In: The "gas-cut" drilling mud, filled with tiny gas bubbles, is pumped into the degasser tank.Vacuum Pump: A powerful vacuum pump reduces the air pressure inside the closed tank.Gas Removal: Under this low pressure, the dissolved and entrained gases rapidly expand and separate from the drilling mud.Separation: The mud is spread over internal baffle plates or sprayed as a thin sheet. This creates a large surface area, making it extremely easy for the gas bubbles to escape.Gas Venting: The liberated gases are safely vented out through a line, usually directed away from the rig to a flare pit or ignition point.Clean Mud Out: The "degassed" drilling mud, now much denser and safer, is pumped out of the tank and back into the active mud system.Key Functions:Maintains Mud Density: Gas bubbles make the drilling mud lighter. This can prevent the mud from exerting enough pressure to hold back formation fluids, which could lead to a well control incident (a kick or blowout). The degasser restores the mud's proper density, which is the primary barrier against such events.Enhances Safety: Removing hazardous and flammable gases (like H2S, which is highly toxic, or methane, which is explosive) from the rig environment is crucial for crew safety.Improves Efficiency: Gas in the mud can interfere with other surface equipment (like shale shakers and centrifuges) and can cause pumps to run less efficiently due to cavitation.Provides Early Warning: By monitoring the gas coming out of the degasser, geologists and engineers can gain valuable information about the formations they are drilling through.Types of Vacuum Degassers:Atmospheric (Poor Boy) Degasser: A simple, non-powered tank where mud flows over baffle plates and gases escape naturally at atmospheric pressure. Less effective for high gas volumes.Vacuum Degasser (Powered): The type described above, using a vacuum pump and motor for high-efficiency gas removal.
