Product Description Product Description The Rubflex VC series is a line of clutches and brakes specifically designed for severe clutch or brake applications in which large inertia loads and sustained slippage would normally result in reduced operating life and loss of torque. The design difference in the VC series from the CB series of elements is that torque is transmitted by torque bars rather than the sidewalls of the actuating tube. VC elements are offered in 24 sizes with drum diameters ranging from 11.5 to 76 inches. How to work The torque is transmitted by torque bar,not by the sidewalls of the actuating tube,the tube is loose and contained within the housing which is formed by a rim and two side plates, which are replaceable .the torque bar are held in position by the side plates which cross through the cavities of the aluminus brake shoes.pressurizing the air tube forces the brake shoe to engage around a cylindrical drum.the release springs in the torque bar cavities of the brake shoes retract the brake shoe when the actuating tube pressure has been released.Feature The Rubflex air-actuated VC element assembly is specifically designed and manufacyured for severe clutch or brake applications on heavy equipment where high staring loads or sustained sippage would normally lower clutch or brake efficiency and reduce operating life.Constricting action and ventilated construction make high torque capacity and rapid heat dissipation possible.
