Product Description Product DescriptionGR5 Titanium Sheet (6AL - 4V), grade5 titanium plate, 6AL4V titanium sheet, cutting titanium sheet, titanium plate for aerospaceTitanium Grade 5 is the aerospace grade and is not cold formable, so it is used more often when no forming is needed. Grade 5 alloy will have ultimate tensile strength at and above 895 Mpa.Plate is often used with the goal to get really close to the final dimensions of the part being made. The material is worked to the closest size of the desired part and the grain structure of the finished piece is more homogenous. Titanium sheet is often used as a heat barrier because titanium stops the heat and does not transfer to the rest of the assembly. Aluminum notably enhances alloy strength at various temperatures, reduces specific gravity, and increases elastic modulus.2. β Stabilizers: Elements that stabilize the β phase and lower transition temperature are either isomorphic (molybdenum, niobium, vanadium) or eutectoid (chromium, manganese, copper, iron, silicon).Isomorphic β stabilizers include molybdenum, niobium, and vanadium, while eutectoid β stabilizers encompass chromium, manganese, copper, iron, and silicon.3. Neutral Elements: Elements like zirconium and tin have minimal impact on phase transition temperature.Main impurities in titanium alloys include oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, and hydrogen. Oxygen and nitrogen strengthen titanium alloys significantly, though they reduce plasticity, with their content typically limited to 0.15-0.2% and 0.04-0.05%, respectively. Hydrogen, with minimal solubility in α phase, is controlled below 0.015%; excess hydrogen causes brittleness but can be removed via vacuum annealing.ApplicationTitanium plates in the shipbuilding industry leverage exceptional corrosion resistance, low density, memory, and non-magnetic properties. These attributes make titanium and its alloys ideal for nuclear submarines, deep submersibles, atomic icebreakers, hydrofoils, hovercraft, minesweepers, propellers, whip antennas, seawater pipes, condensers, heat exchangers, acoustic devices, and fire-fighting equipment. The primary types of titanium alloys used include industrial pure titanium, titanium-zirconium alloy, and various titanium alloys.(1) All Titanium Ships. With a wealth of practical experience in titanium boat manufacturing, F1 has been at the forefront since the 1990s. Companies like Toho Titanium Co., LTD., Nikko Industrial Co., LTD., Fuji Shin Shipyard, and Eteng Shipyard have pioneered the production of all-titanium fishing boats and speedboats. These vessels boast numerous advantages: lightweight design, high speed, smaller engines, reduced fuel costs, minimal CO2 emissions, no need for surface coatings, and easy-to-clean accessories. However, they do come with higher material costs, challenging manufacturing processes, and stringent protection requirements. Test results affirm that these ships exhibit excellent speed stability, minimal vibrations, and reduced noise.(2) Atomic Powered Ships. In Russia, titanium alloy has revolutionized the maritime sector by replacing stainless steel in steam engines, heat exchangers, and ship coolers, effectively mitigating corrosion damage. Titanium steam engines are now a staple in the power plants of Russian atomic icebreakers, extending engine life by an impressive tenfold.(3) Propeller. Propellers necessitate materials of high strength, superior fatigue performance, and outstanding resistance to erosion and cavitation in seawater. Titanium alloy fulfills these rigorous requirements. The U.S. Navy pioneered the use of a 1,500 mm diameter, four-bladed detachable titanium alloy propeller on a hydrofoil, a practice adopted by China in 1972. Today, various specifications, ranging from 450mm to 1700mm in diameter, are standard. Our titanium alloy fixed propellers, measuring 1200mm in diameter and weighing 130kg, have demonstrated a service life exceeding five times that of copper alloy propellers.(4) Marine Pumps, Valves, and Pipes. Traditional pumps, valves, and pipes made from copper and stainless steel often have a short service life of only 2-5 years due to harsh conditions. In contrast, titanium alloy components offer significantly better longevity, proving ideal for large flow mobile seawater pipelines.
