Product Description Product Description 1 Preface1.1 Overview Rider Iron & Steel Ghana Ltd.Rider Iron & Steel Ghana Ltd. proposes to build one cold charging pusher type reheating furnace fired by heavy oil with a maximum heating capacity of 35T/H. The project described in the technical appendix refers to: the design, manufacture, inspection/testing and commissioning instruction etc of one (1) 35 T/Hr. capacity pusher type Reheating Furnace on a turnkey basis.The furnace should be designed and built in a way that ensures leading technologies, stable operation and advanced technical parameters . 1.2 Guiding Principle and Main Technical Decisions for Furnace Design The furnace should be as long as its workshop arrangement can allow.It means that the length of furnace will be determined according to lower capacity limit of energy-efficient furnaces, which can both accommodate annual design capacity of rolling mill and allow certain room for future capacity increase. When operating with maximum capacity, the furnace can output 35 ton billets per hour (cold standard billets heated up to 1250 oC), and reserve some extra heating capacity for future capacity increase of rolling mill. Configuration of heating method and capacity, and selection of operation systemThe furnace will be fired by heavy oil. Before combustion of heavy oil, the heavy oil is heated up to 100-120 oC, and the air is heated up to around 450 oC through heat exchange with flue gas via air recuperator, thus meeting requirements of regenerative combustion for billet heating. Such combustion technology can both meet requirements for billet heating and reduce energy consumption. The furnace adopts optimum three-section temperature control system, including preheating section, heating section and soaking section. The combustion heat is distributed in a reasonable way to ensure adequate heat supply for both top and bottom heating section. Such heat distribution can ensure a flexible heating system with main billet heating at the head end of the furnace. In heating section the billets can be thoroughly heated, or quickly rise in temperature, so that the billets can reach targeted disch.Practical, reliable and advanced electrical control instruments and devices are adopted to ensure basic automation, and stable and reliable furnace operation. 2 Main Dimensions and Arrangement of Furnace 2.1 Layout of Furnace The pusher type furnace fired by heavy oil will feature single row charging, ending charging, and end discharging. During normal operation, cold billet is lifted by workshop crane onto charging table, and then is transferred by charging roller table to the position before the furnace. The qualified billet is transported by charging roller table to the position before the furnace, and then pushed by pusher into the furnace for heating. When rolling mill sends signal for billet feeding, the billet moves through discharging slide onto discharging roller table outside the furnace, and finally be charged to the rolling mill for rolling. The furnace is provided with 1 pc of combustion blower and 1 pc of steel stack. The bottom skids of furnace adopt water cooling. The furnace is designed with charging control room on charging side of the furnace for charging operation. Instrument room and electrical room of the furnace will be reasonably arranged for convenience of operation.2.2 Design Parameter and Main Dimension of Furnace Dimension of billets: 120×120×3000mm,150×150×3000mmType of furnace: Continuous pusher type furnace Method of charging and discharging: end charging and end dischargingHeating capacity of furnace: rated capacity≥ 35t / h Elevation of discharging hole: +800 (to be determined)Method or air preheating: air recuperator (preheating temperature 450oC )Cooling method of bottom skids: water coolingEffective length of furnace: 21000mmEffective width of furnace: 3600mm3 Process Performance and Structure Description of Furnace 3.1 Furnace Structure The furnace from charging end to discharging end is divided into three sections along the length direction of furnace, including unheated preheating section, heating section and soaking section. The furnace structure and burner are reasonably designed to ensure that furnace gas and body can efficiently transfer heat to billets, and temperature distribution along the direction of furnace width is uniform. The heavy oil burners are arranged on side walls of the furnace since the proposed furnace is fired by heavy oil.3.2 Heating and Combustion Device of Furnace The furnace is provided with heat zone, and soak zone for heating and temperature control. Electric actuator is provided at cold air inlet of combustion fan to regulate air volume and pressure of air pipeline system, ensuring that the fan operates within stable range of its performance curve when the required air volume and pressure in the air pipeline system change, and thus avoids fan surge.The combustion air system is controlled in heating section and soaking section. The main pipe in each section is provided with 1 pc of flow orifice plate, and 1 pc of flow regulating valve, and the branch pipe before each burner is provided with 1 pc of expansion joint, and 1 pc of manual regulating butterfly valve for control of burner flow. Combustion blower:Air volume: 15000~20000 Nm3/hAir pressure : ~10000 PaMotor: Y315M-4Power: 90 kWHot air main pipe at outlet of air preheater is provided with hot air release pipe and valve. When the temperature of hot air exceeds setting value, the hot air is automatically released to increase air flow inside the preheater and lower surface temperature of air tubes for the protection of the preheater. The hot air pipes are provided with externally wrapped thermal insulation suitable for respective pipe diameter to reduce heat loss during transportation of hot air. 3.5 Smoke Exhaust System and Preheater of Furnace Smoke exhaust system at furnace tail consists of exhaust fan,flue and steel stack. The waste heat of flue gas is recycled through air preheater and used to heat up air to ~ 450oC. Such design can reuse the waste heat and improve the thermal efficiency of the furnace. 3.6 Ignition System The ignition system is mainly used for the first furnace drying-out, and furnace restart in the first phase when the furnace is fired by heavy oil. When heavy oil is used as furnace fuel, furnace ignition, drying-out, or temperature rise at the early stage of furnace start or restart can be difficult, so following solutions are suggested (for the reference of the buyer): Add 1 set of diesel ignition system equipped with diesel tank and pump. The diesel pump delivers diesel to branch pipes before certain burners in soaking section. Valves are provided before converging point of pipes of heavy oil and diesel, so that the supply of heavy oil and diesel can be switched over. Then diesel can be used for furnace ignition, and temperature rise at the early stage of furnace start or restart. When furnace temperature reaches certain value, switch to heavy oil system. 3.7 Equipment Outside the FurnaceThe equipment outside the furnace mainly includes:Conveying roller table at the charging endStop at the charging endIndustrial TV of normal temperature at the charging endRoller table at the discharging endBuffering plate at the discharging end4 Instrument and Basic Automation of Furnace PLC system for combustion control conducts circuit control, parameter collection and data processing for all detection items of instruments, and operator station conducts all necessary operations, and indicating and monitoring of parameters for furnace operation.The sequential control of furnace and the combustion control system will share 1 set of PLC system adopting Siemens S7-300 series. PROFIBUS-DP is used for communications between PLC host CPU, remote I/O (ET200M)station and variable frequency system. Ethernet is used for communications between the PLC and the operation station. The operation station adopts Siemens WinCC V6.0 software configuration man-machine interface.
