Product Description Skid-Mounted Natural Gas Liquefaction Equipment LNG PlantsLiquefied natural gas (LNG) is natural gas that has been cooled to a liquid state, at about -260° Fahrenheit, for shipping and storage. The volume of natural gas in its liquid state is about 600 times smaller than its volume in its gaseous state. This process makes it possible to transport natural gas to places pipelines do not reach.Liquefying natural gas is a way to move natural gas long distances when pipeline transport is not feasible. Markets that are too far away from producing regions to be connected directly to pipelines have access to natural gas because of LNG. In its compact liquid form, natural gas can be shipped in special tankers to terminals around the world. Process descriptionThe process of natural gas liquefaction involves the following steps:1. Pretreatment: The natural gas is first cleaned to remove impurities like water, CO2, and H2S. This process is essential as these impurities can freeze and block the pipelines and equipment.2. Compression: The gas is then compressed to increase its pressure. The compression reduces the volume of the gas, making it easier to transport.3. Cooling: The compressed gas is cooled to very low temperatures using a refrigeration system. This process cools the gas until it turns into a liquid.4. Storage: The liquefied natural gas (LNG) is then stored in large tanks at very low temperature (-162oC) until it is ready to be transported.5. Transport: LNG can be transported through various methods, including tanker ships, trucks, and pipelines.
