Product Description Product Description1. Introduction The FD1503 Omnidirectional Multi-Beam Sonar is a versatile multi-beam sonar capable of 360-degree imaging. This sonar can be used as an omnidirectional imaging sonar for the detection of underwater and water body targets,revolutionizing the traditional usage model of forward-looking sonar. When used for underwater target search, the carrier can search surroundingtargets without needing to turn. When used for monitoring underwater moving targets, the frame rate can reach over30fps, allowing for simultaneous detection of targets in all directions, greatly increasing the sonar's detection efficiency. This type of sonar has two frequency options: high and low. Low frequency has a longer detection range but a larger vertical viewing angle and slightly lower resolution, recommended for applications such as SLAM and target detection. High frequency has a smaller vertical viewing angle and slightly higher resolution, but a shorter detection range, recommended for scenarios requiring close-range fine imaging. In addition to the omnidirectional detection capability, the sonar head is also equipped with collision avoidance sensors that can detect the distance to targets in front of the sonar, enabling collision avoidance and ranging functions. This sonar also features a pipeline configuration option specifically designed for pipeline detection. The vertical viewing angle of the pipeline configuration is approximately 2 ° , allowing it to function as an omnidirectional multi-beam depth sounder for high-speed profile scanning of the environment, and to construct a three-dimensional model of the space through the movement of the carrier. Typical applications include pipeline inspection, tank inspection, SLAM, etc. Compared to traditional mechanical scanning sonars for pipelines, the pipeline configuration can achieve detection speeds of up to 50 frames per second, without compromising resolution or detection time, allowing pipeline robots to operate at high speeds and high precision, with detection efficiencyreaching hundreds of times that of mechanical scanning sonars. In SLAM applications, AUVs/ROVs can construct an all-around scene in tens of milliseconds, rather than several seconds or tens of seconds, greatly enhancing the situational awareness of AUVs/ROVs. 3. Overall Appearance and Dimension Diagram This sonar is designed as an integrated unit with a cylindrical appearance, a diameter of 70mm, and a height of 252mm (excluding the connector).
