Product Description L-Carnosine CAS 305-84-0Product Name:L-CarnosineCAS No.: 305-84-0Sequence (Three-Letter Code): β-Ala-HisMolecular formula:C9H14N4O3Molecular weight: 226.232g/molActive Content: 100ppmSolubility:Water solubleAppearance: White powderProperties: L-Carnosineis a dipeptide (sequence: -ala-his) and a well-documented water-based antioxidant that has wound-healing activity and is naturally present in high concentrations in muscle and brain tissue. Carnosing is a scavenging reactive oxygen species and an unsaturated aldehyde formed by the peroxidation of cell membrane fatty acids during oxidative stress. The low molecular weight water-soluble unmodified dipeptide, Ala-HIS, has a very low affinity for skin and does not penetrate beyond the first layer of the stratum corneum. However, the lipophilic peptide palmitoyl-ala-his diffused into the cuticle, epidermis, and dermal skin layers, and no systemic activity was observed.(1) Carnosine is a dipeptide of the amino acids beta-alanine and histidine. It is highly concentrated in muscle and brain tissues. (2)Carnosine has been proven to scavenge reactive oxygen species (ROS) as well as alpha-beta unsaturated aldehydes formed from peroxidation of cell membrane fatty acids during oxidative stress.(3)Carnosine was found to inhibit diabetic nephropathy by protecting the podocytes and mesangial cells.Function1. protects epithelial cell membranes in the stomach and restores them to their normal metabolism; 2. acts as an antioxidant and protects the stomach from alcohol and smoking-induced damage; 3 has anti-inflammatory properties and moderates production of interleukin-8; 4. adheres to ulcerations, acts as a barrier between them and stomach acids and helps to heal them; 5. inhibits activity of Helicobacter pylori bacteria; 6. does not interfere with the production of prostaglandins essential to the mucosal lining of the stomach; 7.strengthens these mucosal linings and stimulates production of protective mucous.SpecificationANALYSISSPECIFICATIONRESULTSAppearanceWhitish fine powderCompliesOdorCharacteristicCompliesAssay(HPLC)≥98.0%99.13%Sieve analysis100% pass 80 meshCompliesLoss on dryingSulphated ash≤0.5%≤0.5%0.23%0.19%Heavy metal<10ppmCompliesAs<2ppmCompliesLead<1ppmCompliesMercury<0.1ppmCompliesCadmium<1ppmCompliesMicrobiology Total Plate Count<1000cfu/g<1000cfu/gYeast & Moulds<100cfu/g<50cfu/gE.ColiNegativeNegativeSalmonellaNegativeNegative
