Introduction and Description:What is ?Introduction: DTH is short for "down-the-hole".DTH Drill Bits are produced from premium quality nickel-alloy steel for increased durability and wear characteristics. Specific heat treatment standards and special "stress relief" processes ensure consistent performance. DTH hammer bits are designed for maximum performance and hole cleaning ability and high penetration rate. "Down-the-hole" (DTH) drill bits are used with "Down-the-hole" hammers for drilling holes through a wide range of rocks types. In conjunction with DTH hammers, drill bits are designed with a splined drive for rotating the bit in the ground. Drill bits are available in different sizes and different styles so they can drill a wide range of hole sizes. All Prodrill's DTH drill bits are all CAD designed, CNC manufactured for perfect bits body, and multiple heat-treated to enhance hardness, surface-compressed for fatigue resistance, all thus to extend the product life for maximum wear and performance in the toughest of drilling conditions. Application: The down-the-hole drilling tool is used to drill large-diameter holes in rocks, usually in the initial stage prior to blasting, but it is also used in non-blasting application.DTH drilling are used mostly in mining quarries, but can be used in a variety of other construction application.The DTH drilling method is growing in popularity, with the increase in all application segments, including blast-hole, water well, foundation, oil & gas, cooling systems and drilling for heat exchange pumps.Applications were later found for the underground DTH method, where the direction of drilling is generally upwards instead of downwards.
